Which Office 365 Plan do I need?

Layer2 data integration is not bound to any specific Microsoft Office 365 Plan. It works for any plan. It does not need any installation of apps or configuration changes in the cloud, just read / write access, depending on requirements.

How to integrate my specific app?

The Layer2 Cloud Connector comes with a wide range of common data providers, drivers, and support for standard protocols. It also works with many vendor-specific or 3rd party providers. Can I use it for on-premises?

Generally, yes - you can do. It works for SharePoint on-prem in the same way as for SharePoint Online. But take a look at the Layer2 Business Data List Connector before. It is highly optimized for on-premises use and more easy to manage, depending on requirements.

Where to install the connector?

The connector runs as a Windows Service on top of any Windows OS. It can be installed on Windows Server, clients, or VMs. Install locally in your network if you plan to connect to local on-premises IT systems such as File Server/NAS, SharePoint Server, databases, and similar. You can also install on a Windows VM in the cloud to easily connect any cloud-based services with each other, such as Office 365, SharePoint Online, or Azure File Storage.

Which SharePoint Online features are available?

All SharePoint Online list and library features are fully available for your connected data sets, such as views, lookups, search, forms, managed metadata, change notifications, workflows. There are no restrictions. Even 3rd party tools, such as Nintex Forms, Nintex Workflows, or PlumSail Dashboards are fully supported.

Can I use it with the new Microsoft PowerApps?
